All You Need is Love Day
From the Counselor
Dear Families,

February is here and we’ve got lots to celebrate—Black history month, past presidents, snow days, and here at x̌alilc: ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE DAY!

On Tuesday, Feb. 11 (TOMORROW), students will participate in our 3rd annual All You Need Is Love Day. This is a positive, joy-filled day focusing on compassion for others, remembering those who love us, growing in love for oneself, and celebrating LOVE’s byproducts!

Students are invited to dress in pink, red, or white. Among other fun, PTO will be hosting a card making activity at recess.
Food Drive
Additionally, we are celebrating your kindness in supporting our Great Kindness Challenge FOOD DRIVE.

We are extending the drive 1 more week to ensure we gather enough items for students to work in pairs to assemble a ~ 170 care kit for Fishline patrons. If you are able to help with donating, we are seeking the following to fill in the gaps of what we’ve collected:
  • 50 canned fruit with a pop top
  • 50 canned meat with a pop top
  • 30 individually wrapped meat sticks
  • 70 protein drinks

Your generosity is greatly appreciated as we work together to make a positive impact on our community!

Thank you for your continued support, kindness, and LOVE!

❤️ Katie Brase, x̌alilc Counselor

Bridge Work
Bridge Cleaning - Potential Traffic Delays
Beginning Tuesday, Feb. 18, Washington State Department of Transportation crews will begin daytime work on SR 305 Agate Pass Bridge. As our crews care for this key bridge, we once again ask for your help to keep people moving.

This year, cleaning is scheduled to take place each day Tuesday, Feb. 18, through Friday, Feb. 21. Inspections are also set to take place this year and are scheduled Monday, Feb. 24, through Thursday, Feb. 27.

Why daytime work?
Crews work on the bridge from above and below. To get that access, they will use Under Bridge Inspection Trucks (UBITs). The UBIT is a specialized piece of equipment that sits on the bridge and uses a long arm and bucket to extend above and below the deck. These vantage points give our inspectors an up-close look at the steel structure.
For safety reasons, this specialized equipment is only used during daylight hours.

What to expect:
  • Construction Crews: From 8:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. each work day,
  • Delays: Expect delays of 30 minutes or longer in both directions on SR 305 near the bridge.
  • Alternating Traffic: Flaggers will alternate traffic through the work zone at the bridge.
  • Plan Accordingly: Please prepare for potential delays and leave early if you must cross the bridge to pick-up your child.
