Thank you for stopping by our x̌alilc Elementary School site! I am new to x̌alilc this year and am so happy to be here!
I grew up in Bremerton and lived in Seattle for several years before moving to Hood River, OR and then settled in Vancouver, WA for the last 20+ years. I love the Puget Sound and have missed it more and more over the last several years. I am thrilled to be back up this way.
I have three grown children who are really great humans who are funny, kind, brilliant, and love a great adventure. I also have two dogs that keep me laughing and moving.
I enjoy kayaking, paddle boarding, hiking, and spending time with my friends and family. When it is cold and rainy, you will most likely find me curled up (usually with a dog or two at my feet or side) at home with a good book or enjoying tea with a friend.
I have been in education for 18 years. I taught first, second, and third grade, was an English Language Development Specialist, and have been the associate principal at an elementary school in Vancouver for the last four years. I care deeply about equity, inclusionary practices, and social justice and believe education and caring teachers and educators can change the trajectory of a child's life.
Education, teaching, learning, and being around children bring so much joy and energy to my life!
