Welcome to 1st grade!

My name is Meghan Shaffer, and I am so excited to be your teacher this year! My family moved to Bainbridge Island in 2021, but I also grew up here and attended x̌alilc, Hyla, and Bainbridge High School. I am beyond thrilled to be back home and to be part of the x̌alilc community. I come from a family of teachers and always knew I wanted to work with children. I can't wait to start with this amazing first-graders class in our room.

My husband Kevin is a civil engineer, and we have two children, Talia and Clark. In our spare time, our family loves to hike, camp, play soccer and baseball, attend sporting events, and generally spend as much time outdoors as we can! Some of my favorite things to do are read, drink lots and lots of coffee, cook, and explore nature!
