About Me

Hi, I’m Alison Hatletveit, an elementary STEM teacher at x̌alilc Elementary School. I’ve been teaching for several decades and was one of the original teachers who started the STEM program in 2015.

I love sparking curiosity and encouraging kids to think critically and creatively. My classroom is hands-on and interactive, with lots of experiments, projects, and real-world problem-solving activities. I aim to create a lively, collaborative space where students feel excited to learn and explore and I strive to make sure every student feels valued and supported. One of my favorite things about my job is seeing the growth of children in my program from kindergarten through 4th grade.

When I’m not teaching, I love spending time with my husband, Torgeir and our two kids, Ella and Riley. I enjoy paddle boarding year-round, cold plunging and I’m in constant awe of the beautiful Puget Sound. I’m also an orca fanatic and have had several magical experiences with these extraordinary animals. I love to hike, explore new places, hang out with friends, and listen to live music.

My goal is to inspire my students to love STEM and use their skills to make a positive impact on the world.
