Happy Monday, Orca families!
The staff is back in full swing: preparing, learning, planning, and setting-up. The energy in the building is joyful with lots of laughter and happy greetings! The staff genuinely like each other and are happy to be returning to a routine. It has been fun for me to experience!
x̌alilc will send out a Newsletter every Monday. This is the best place to check for important dates, information and helpful links.
Our very involved and supportive PTO is busy planning! Watch out for more information on all our events and for tables set-up with new Orca wear. I was able to get my first x̌alilc Orca sweatshirt on Sunday at the event for our new Kinder friends. Our PTO leaders are passionate in their support of x̌alilc and would love your involvement! You can do as little or as much as you are able and want as a PTO member. We'd love to have you!
As our staff meets together tomorrow, we will be working on our values and beliefs about education, teaching, and learning. We will revisit our collective beliefs and values throughout the year. I wonder what your values would be? What would your student say? My guess is, we would all be pretty closely aligned. Our goal is to have those values and beliefs sustain and drive us through our year of growth and learning together!
We look forward to our Open House on Friday, August 30th from 9am-10am! Your students' teachers are creating warm and welcoming spaces and classrooms. I have had many conversations about why they are designing their spaces with the intention they are. All conversations have come around to... "I want our students to feel safe, welcome, and excited to be here!"
We are going to have a wonderful year together swimming along in our big x̌alilc Orca family!
See you around very soon!
