Orca Families,
It is a fun filled week at x̌alilc where we are participating in the Great Kindness Challenge focused on sharing kindness in our school, in our homes, on Bainbridge Island and even across the world. Check out the ways to be involved below!
Also, last week, BISD shared that it needs to reduce next school year's budget by $6.5 - $7 million. Be sure to be informed and share your thoughts. Check out the information later in the newsletter.
Finally, we hope to see you on Friday for Bingo Night. Thanks to our wonderful PTO who plans so many fun activities for our students, staff and families.
Sincerely,
Rhonda Walton

Hello Families!
This week, January 27-31, x̌alilc will participate in the annual Great Kindness Challenge (GKC). This national event is a week dedicated to doing acts of kindness for people in our school and community.
Students and staff at x̌alilc will participate in a variety of ways, one of which is performing as many acts of kindness as possible via the GKC checklist. The ✅-list focuses on key kindness concepts: respect, gratitude, and inclusiveness.
Another special way students and your family can participate is through care kits. Through Jan. 30th, we will be accepting specific food donations (see graphic below) and at the end of the week students will assemble items into care kits for Poulsbo Fishline.
Last but not least: SPIRIT WEAR is part of the fun! Students are invited to participate.
- Monday -☮️ Peace, Love, & Kindness (60s inspiration)
- Tuesday -🏄Ride the Kindness Wave (surfer/beach vibes)
- Wednesday -🎸Kindness Rocks (rock star inspo)
- Thursday - 🌈 Kindness Rainbow (rainbow colors or prints)
- Friday -🏆Team Kindness (favorite sports team or x̌alilc wear)
Thank you in advance for your donations (if you choose to join in on the care kit drive) and acts of kindness!
Kindly,
💛Ms. Brase
