Notes from the Principal
Happy New Year Orca Families!

It was wonderful to see our students back at school this morning! I loved watching both students and staff excited to see friends and return to our routine. What an amazing community we have here!

With the new year, comes new goals! One of our goals at x̌alilc for the remainder of the school year, is to improve our daily attendance and have students arrive on time ready to learn!

We are noticing many students are tardy each day. Remember, school starts at 7:50 each day. Often classes start with community meetings and then jump right into academics. Students miss the soft landing of community time and important directions/instruction when they are late which can cause students to feel anxious, embarrassed or stressed. When students miss instruction, they struggle to access learning.

Our school doors open at 7:40 each day. Help your students by having them arrive on time everyday. If your student is struggling to get out the door or is expressing reluctance to come to school, please let us know so we can support you and your student!

Thank you for partnering with us!
