Unity Day
In honor of  National Bullying Prevention Month, x̌alilc Orcas will celebrate Unity Day on Wed, October 16, 2024.

What does this entail?

  • On Oct. 16th,  x̌alilc students are invited to join national efforts and wear something ORANGE to send one, large, universal representation that we are united against bullying and united for kindness, acceptance and inclusion. The color orange provides a powerful expression of solidarity for bullying prevention.
  • Back by popular demand, Taproot Theater will perform for a whole school assembly. This year’s bullying prevention play, Rocks! By Melanie Godsey, is brand new and takes place at Camp Obsidian!
  • Teachers will augment the day with books and lessons on the topic.

Throughout the month of October, Ms. Brase will be visiting classrooms for regular Social Emotional Learning (SEL) classroom lessons focused on the 3 Rs: How to recognize, refuse, and report bullying.

Move-a-thon
Move-a-Thon!
The time has finally come, x̌alilc families! This Friday, we kick off our one-and-only fundraiser of the year--Move-a-thon! This year we hope to raise $70,000 to support our school community. Our goal is for 100% participation and we encourage families to give what you can to help us meet this goal.

This funding pays for everything the PTO supports at our school: ranging from teacher appreciation, field trips and school supplies to important in-school enrichment and fun community events like the Harvest Festival last month!

On Friday, be sure to check for the Move-a-thon Packet coming home in your student's backpack with more information about how to set up a fundraising page on our fundraising website. This fundraising website is now live, so if you want to get a headstart feel free to do so!

Move-a-thon itself will be a spirit-filled morning of fun where the kids complete an obstacle course style fun run on the playground and field on Friday, October 25. All x̌alilc community members are invited to come cheer your student on. We will need lots of volunteers to pull this off! If you want to be involved or volunteer, email halilts.president@bainbridgeptos.org! The full schedule of when each grade will be participating in the Move-a-thon will be forthcoming.
