FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear x̌alilc Families,

It is hard to believe the 2024 school year is nearly complete. I am so proud of all we–students, staff and families– have accomplished this year and the new traditions we are building with our new school name.

We have so many fun activities this week!

  • Tuesday, June 18: ROCKETS during lunch recess 11:00-12:30

  • Tuesday, June 18: Moving up rotations 8:15-8:45 where all students move up a grade and the 4th graders return to kindergarten

  • Tuesday, June 18 - Ice Cream Social 6:00-7:00

  • Wednesday, June 19: No School - Juneteenth

  • Thursday, June 20: Field Day

    • 8:00-9:05     4th, 3rd and Pellegrino

    • 9:15-10:27   K, 1, Mass and Keach

  • Thursday, June 20: 4th Grade Clap out 10:35

The mural in the hallway from the entry to the kindergarten hallway is almost done!  It is amazing and another beautiful representation of joining the old and the new. If completed, it will be open for families to admire on the last day of school. A special thanks to the PTO for commissioning this amazing work and especially to Toma Villa whose beautiful art will be a legacy for us to share.

Finally, I would like to thank the x̌alilc community for three wonderful years as your principal. I am excited about my new role as Director of Teaching and Learning, but the partnership I have shared with the students, families and our amazing staff has been incredibly rewarding and has enriched my journey as an educator.

Have a wonderful summer!

Warmly,

Whitney

ABC CHECK-IN

It's time to do the ABCs for all students returning to BISD for the 2024-25 school year!

Our Annual Back-to-school Check-in (ABC) process lets us know that your student(s) are returning to our schools for 2024-25 and allows parents/guardians to review annual information.

The ABCs must be completed* for all students attending BISD schools in 2024-25 — this includes both new and returning students.  Access the ABCs by logging into your Family Access account. It should take about 15 minutes (or less!) to complete.

If you need assistance with the ABC process (such as translation, accessing technology, or other questions), please contact the office manager at your student's school.

*Class placement/class schedules will not be released in August until the ABCs are completed. But why delay? Go ahead and take care of it today!
